These premises must be registered and inspected on an annual basis.
To start a new accommodation business, please follow the below steps:
Step 1. Contact Councils Building Department to discuss regulations
Step 2. Arrange an on-site visit with an Environmental Health Officer to discuss the requirements
Step 3. Complete an application to Register a New Accommodation Business. You must also submit detailed floor plans, drawn to scale (1:100), with your application.
Step 4. When construction and fit-out is complete, contact Council’s Environmental Health Unit to arrange a final inspection.
If you are purchasing an existing accommodation business, please complete an application to Transfer Ownership. We would also recommend you request an Inspection and Information of a Registered Premise.
All caravan parks must be registered with their council in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act 2010. Registration of a caravan park will only be granted if we are satisfied that the park complies with the Residential Tenancies (Caravan Park & Movable Dwellings Registration & Standards) Regulations 2010.
