Council meeting in brief

At the Council meeting on Tuesday 30 April:

  • Mayor Cr Tom Crook acknowledged Charlotte Moore, Jade Smith and Harper Wootton from St Mary’s Primary School who observed the meeting as part of their Rotary Junior Community Awards program.
  • Approved a report to advertise the Draft Budget 2024/25, the 10-Year Financial Plan and Four-year Revenue and Rating Plan, with community feedback sought on all until noon Wednesday 29 May.
  • Accepted the Finance Report for the nine-month period ended 31 March 2024 and the Council Meeting Resolution Register.
  • Unanimously approved adoption of a new Privacy Policy and an updated Election Period Policy.
  • Voted in favour of a proposed amendment to the Contents of East Gippsland Shire Council's Meeting Minutes - an administrative change to the Council meeting minutes which will see a record kept of how Councillors vote on each agenda item.
  • Received and noted the Capital Works and Major Projects (Landfill Rehabilitation Projects) Report 2023-24 for Quarter Three period ended 31 March 2024.
  • Voted to accept a panel of arboriculture and tree service providers.
  • Accepts the tender submitted by Cranes Asphalting & Bitumen Sealing Pty Ltd for road safety upgrades to Marine Parade, Lakes Entrance.
