The Kalimna Jetty Walk (Loop Walk) is closed until the end of June as East Gippsland Shire Council completes an upgrade.
The path will have an improved gravel surface and rock will be installed mitigate further erosion of the shoreline.
During the closure, pedestrians are asked to observe the construction signs and any directions from the contractor including traffic management directions.
Council secured funding from the Commonwealth Government for a range of new works to improve the visitor experience in Kalimna. Part of the works involve creating a loop walking trail linking the key attractions of the scenic lookout on Hotel Road, Kalimna Jetty, Jemmy’s Point and Jemmy’s Point Reserve.
The proposed works will improve accessibility and safety for walkers, as well as offer amazing views over the lakes, the entrance and the ocean beyond. New signs and interpretive facilities will provide a more comprehensive and informative experience for visitors.
Updates on the overall Jemmy’s Point Stage 2 project and other works in the precinct will be provided before works begin.
