Locality boundary realignments Paynesville area.
Current locality boundary alignments mean jetties and marinas are located in the wrong localities. This has the potential to cause confusion and create delays during emergency situations. No addressing issues will be created by this proposed locality boundary realignment. We are proposing to address this with the following realignment proposal.
We are proposing to realign the locality boundaries between:
- Eagle Point and Newlands Arm
- Paynesville and Newlands Arm
- Paynesville and Raymond Island
- Eagle Point and Boole Poole
- Metung and Boole Poole / Raymond Island
The location and extent of the proposed locality realignment is shown below:
Red lines show new boundaries that will allow on water structures to be in correct localities.
This section will be added to Metung locality.
Boole Poolenorthern boundary will be at this red line.
Extend Eagle Point across to red line so that jetties are in correct locality.
The extended community is invited to provide feedback on this proposal.
Council received a request from Ambulance Victoria to realign the locality boundaries between: Eagle Point and Newlands Arm; Paynesville and Newlands Arm; Paynesville and Raymond Island; Eagle Point and Boole Poole; Metung and Boole Poole / Raymond Island.
Due to the current locality boundary alignment, jetties and marinas are located in the wrong localities. This has the potential to cause confusion and create delays during emergency situations.
Council officers have investigated this issue and concluded that the logical solution is to realign the locality boundaries. The localities are proposed to be realigned to the centerline of the water to avoid ‘on water’ structures being in the incorrect locality.
The proposal will also reduce the size of the Boole Poole locality water area so that water areas are aligned to the localities they border (Eagle Point and Metung).
The current locality boundaries are indicated by the purple boundary lines on the above map. The proposed boundary realignments are represented by the red lines marked on the above map.
No addressing issues will be created by this proposed locality boundary realignment.
