We recently notified the community of a proposal to name an unnamed walking trail that leads from the southern end of the Cunninghame Arm Footbridge to the eastern pier of the entrance to the Gippsland Lakes – ‘Hummocks Walk’.
The extended community was invited to provide feedback on this proposal.
Having considered all the feedback received, Council has made a final decision to accept the naming proposal.
The naming proposal will now be submitted to the Registrar of Geographic Names for consideration and inclusion in VICNAMES – the Register of Geographic Names.
Once the naming proposal is endorsed by the Registrar and registered in VICNAMES, Council will complete the implementation process for the new walk name and notify all relevant authorities, affected property owners and update road signage accordingly.
