A community information session will be held Thursday 27 March regarding a planning permit application for a proposed organic composting facility next to Bairnsdale Regional Landfill, Johnstons Road, Forge Creek.
This facility will allow the separation of organic waste (such as food scraps and garden trimmings) from general waste so it can be composted and turned into nutrient-rich soil, rather than being sent to landfill where it would otherwise generate methane emissions. Nearby landowners have been contacted.
The information session will provide an overview of the proposal. Experts will be available to discuss key aspects of the application. The information session is not a planning consultation meeting.
Thursday 27 March, 6.00 pm, Council Corporate Centre, 273 Main Street, Bairnsdale
If you are a community member, please RSVP if you are attending.
