Council recently notified the community of a proposal to realign the locality boundary between EAGLE POINT, NEWLANDS ARM, PAYNESVILLE, RAYMOND ISLAND, BOOLE POOLE and METUNG. The extended community was invited to provide feedback on this proposal.

Having considered all the feedback received, Council has made a final decision to accept the locality realignment proposal.

The realignment proposal will now be submitted to the Registrar of Geographic Names for consideration and inclusion in VICNAMES – the Register of Geographic Names.

Once the realignment proposal is endorsed by the Registrar and registered in VICNAMES, Council will complete the implementation process for the locality boundary realignment and notify all relevant authorities, affected property owners, and update any signage accordingly.
