Proposed removal from the Register of Public Roads – laneway access between 259 Main Street and 124 MacLeod Street, Bairnsdale.
East Gippsland Shire Council gives notice under section 206 and Schedule 10 Clause 3 of the Local Government Act 1989(“the Act”) that it proposes to remove from the Register of Public Roads laneway access between 259 Main Street and 124 MacLeod Street, Bairnsdale.
If removed from the Register of Public Roads, Council proposes close the road to sell the land from the road by private treaty to the abutting property owners.
In accordance with section 223 of the Act, any person wishing to make a submission on the proposal must do so in writing to the undersigned by no later than Friday 22 October 2021.
A person making a submission is entitled to request in the submission that they wish to appear in person or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, in support of the submission at a meeting of the Council or its Committee on a date, time and place to be determined by the Council.
All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act. Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to discontinue and sell the road, part of the road, or not to discontinue and sell the road.
Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
