We invite public submissions on the revocation of Local Law No. 1 Procedures for Council Meetings.
The Local Government Act 2020 (Act) requires councils to prepare, adopt and maintain governance rules for the conduct of Council and delegated committee meetings.
Under the Act the Governance Rules will replace Local Law No. 1 Procedures for Council Meetings.
Copies of the Local Law No. 1 Procedures for Council Meetings are available from our Corporate and Customer Service Centres and our website.
Anyone can make a written submission, which will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 and must be received by 5.00 pm on Thursday 6 August 2020 at our Corporate Centre, emailed to feedback@egipps.vic.gov.au, or mailed to PO Box 1618, Bairnsdale, 3875.
Anyone making a submission should indicate whether they wish to be heard in support of their written submission and may appear in person, or by a person acting on their behalf, at a virtual meeting of Council at 1.30 pm on Tuesday 18 August 2020 at the Corporate Centre.
Presenters will be contacted regarding details for the virtual meeting.
All submissions will be available for public inspection.
